Once considered to be the most promising player in North American Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Cloud9 will be using Braxton "swag" Pierce at the upcoming cs_summit event, SlingShot Esports reports
The rifler will most likely be standing in for Cloud9 AWPer Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham, who recently underwent surgery. The cs_summit will be the second LAN event swag will play with Cloud9 in roughly two years' time. Pierce, who is contracted with Cloud9 as a live streamer, was also seen competing with the Cloud9 squad at the RGN Pro Series LAN finals in late 2015.
Cloud9 at cs_summit
Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert
Jake "stewie2k" Yip
Timothy "autimatic" Ta
Michael "shroud" Grzesiek
Braxton "swag" Pierce (Stand-in)
Additionally, the cs_summit will be the first time swag will have competed against top rated international competition since 2014—as names such as SK Gaming, NiP, and EnVyUs.
Having been one of the players present on the iBUYPOWER team that was caught throwing a competitive match, Pierce was permanently banned from competing in any future Valve events. Meaning any semblance of a professional career is next to impossible for the 21-year-old player, as he is unable to compete at Valve's own million dollar Major events.
