Viewer's guide: ECS Season 4 Finals

Whilst most of us are putting on our woolly hats and gloves, eight teams are descending upon Cancun, Mexico for the $750,000 prize-pool ECS Season 4 Finals.
The last main event in the Counter-Strike calendar for 2017, taking place at the Hard Rock Hotel in Cancun from December 15-17. The last event with top teams before the Eleague Major in January, and with six of the eight teams being involved in the Major it will be a good chance to get some practice in, on a LAN environment against other top teams.

Participating teams

With five of the teams being in the Top 10, it is sure to be a fantastic event, Astralis are attending the event with Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel as a stand-in for the absent Nicolai "device" Reedtz, all the other teams are at full strength going into the event.

Format and schedule

The tournament will feature a GSL group stage, before the teams move into the best-of-three, single elimination playoffs.

Prize pool and distribution

The prize pool for the event is $750,000 USD, but it has not yet been revealed how this will be distributed throughout the teams and places.

However it may be of note that last years Champions, SK Gaming took home $250,000, which was almost 38 percent of the overall figure.

Broadcasting team

Much loved host Alex "Machine" Richardson returns for this event, and with him a host of popular faces, including ex-Cloud9 player Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert on the analysis desk.

Providing the commentary are two very well known casting duos, Henry "HenryG" Greer and Matthew "Sadokist" Trivett, as well as James "JZFB" Bardolph and Daniel "ddk" Kapadia.
