The move comes roughly one week after SlingShot Esports reported that Team Liquid was looking to trade Pimp, as well as resident AWPer Josh "jdm64" Marzano, for OpTic Gaming two-piece Óscar "mixwell" Cañellas, and Will "RUSH" Wierzba. Whether this was the main reason behind Pimp's decision was not specified, although the player did say in the press release that he didn't "feel [as if] I can provide the commitment necessary to continue with the team on a long term basis."
This does not mean Pimp's playing career is over, however, as he expressed his desire to continue competing. Nevertheless, Pimp will continue playing for Team Liquid until the squad has been able to secure a fifth player, and will be competing in the team's upcoming ESL Pro League games.

Jacob "Pimp" Winneche
Upon joining Team Liquid on June 16, 2016, Pimp was widely considered to be one of the best players in Danish Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Having competed with names such as Copenhagen Wolves and Team Dignitas in the past, Pimp established himself as a star player, as his proficiency at rifling, as well as AWPing made him a valued commodity on any team he competed with.
