NiP CEO: "Our players make up to $230,000 a year"

2
The CEO of Ninjas in Pyjamas recently told Komplett.no the average earnings of the players on the team's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster.
Despite the legendary Counter-Strike: Global Offensive squad's recent struggles, business seems to have never been better for NiP, according to CEO Hicham Chichane.

In a recent interview with Norweigan IT-site Komplett.no, the Norweigan CEO told the site that the players on the team's CS:GO roster are making an average of $170-230,000 annually, while the organization's Dota 2 team make an average annual salary of $116,000.

"Our players are making a good living off of gaming. The Counter-Strike players, for example, earn between 1,5 and two million (Norweigan Krone) per year, and our Dota 2 players make an average salary of one million NOK per year."

Chichane didn't specify if the earnings for the CS:GO squad was based solely off of salary and incentives, but given the roster's status in the game, it wouldn't be all too surprising if this was the case. NiP's Counter-Strike roster currently consists of the following players:

NiP Gaming

Sweden Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg
Sweden Adam "friberg" Friberg
Sweden Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund
Sweden Richard "Xizt" Landström
Sweden William "draken" Sundin

Sweden Björn "THREAT" Pers (Coach)

2016 was a massive year for the NiP organization financially. On August 17, Swedish business site Breakit.se revealed that the company had been valued at roughly $11 million, while at the same time reporting an annual turnover of $2,2 million. "We're growing very rapidly and are constantly re-investing into our growth, which can be seen in our financial expansion," Chichane told Breakit at the time.

This is quite the different tune in comparison to where the organization was in late 2015, as the CS:GO players had reportedly been denied financial compensation for months on end.
