With the conclusion of the ESL Pro League Season 5 group stage, last night saw SK Gaming and Team Liquid secure their spots in the tournament's seminfinals. The two teams will now be going up against G2 Esports and North respectively, who topped the group stage and were, therefore, sent straight into the semifinals.
The evening started off with SK Gaming defeating mousesports in a 2-0 series. Although the Brazilian team struggled on the second day of the group stage, SK Gaming were still able to comfortably defeat mousesports on both Mirage and Cache.

While the first quarterfinal concluded in rather one-sided fashion, the encounter between the sole remaining North American squad in Team Liquid and EnVyUs proved to be the absolute opposite.
Spanning across three maps, both sides fought fervently on Cobblestone and Train, the two opening maps of the match. EnVyUs had won Cobblestone, after overcoming a rather substantial round deficit in the first half of the map, but were comfortably defeated by the North American squad on Train—setting the stage for a decisive third game on Nuke.
But despite the even nature of the two first games, Team Liquid completely decimated their French adversaries on deciding map Nuke. Winning by a 16-4 scoreline, the last North American team in the tournament is now looking poised to make a statement against North in the semifinals.
