The first series of the day saw
Another map that required overtime was the first of Mirage as took on . Gambit opened up with an 11-4 half on their CT side before Cloud9 flipped it back on them. Eventually it was Gambit who came out on top in overtime 7-3 to win 22-18. The same first half happened on Train however this time there was no comeback for the North Americans as they fell 16-7.
Third was a clash of two teams who should be titans but have lost some of their spark as of late as took on . The first map of Mirage is a fairly standard pick in most pro games, with it going the way of Astralis 16-11, however the second map of Nuke is far less common. Perhaps it was a reflection of Faze being uncomfortable on the map that lead to their second half, the favoured CT side, going so horribly as a 6-1 loss, giving Astralis a 16-6 and 2-0 victory. It is worth noting that over the two maps, all Astralis players were positive, all Faze players were negative and not a single Faze player had a rating of 1.00 or above.
Finally we had the Swedish derby as battled . Similar story to other Mirage games of the day as Ninjas in Pyjamas fell to an early 3-12 deficit that they could not come back from, losing the first map 9-16. The match then moved on to Ninjas in Pyjamas' pick, but a Fnatic favourite, Inferno. Ninjas in Pyjamas showed they were more than correct to pick it as they stormed to a 16-5 victory with young leading the way.
The final map could have easily have gone to the Ninjas as they took a 10-5 first half lead on Train followed by the pistol round in the second half. Fnatic were having none of it however as they mounted an 3-11 second half comeback to take the series 2-1. Again a mention has to go to Mr consistent once again the MVP for Fnatic.
send home in somewhat of an upset. The first map opened up with a huge first half lead on Mirage for Natus Vincere 12-3 on their CT side. Mousesports started to build back into the map in the second half but it wasn't enough as it ended 16-9. The second map of Inferno was much closer as the teams traded 8-7 CT halves before Natus Vincere took it 19-16 in overtime. Shocking absolutely nobody however is the fact that was far and away the best player on the server ending +32 over two maps with an ADR of 114.5.
