Two Million Dollar official PUBG tournament announced

1
The PUBG Global Invitational 2018 has been announced to be taking place later this year, with a huge $2 million USD total prizepool.
This event will be the first 'major' tournament which is officially held by PUBG Corp, differing from the Gamescom Invitational 2017 due to not having streamers and influencers invited.

The 20 team tournament branded PGI 2018 will be held in Berlin, Germany at the end of July. The beginning of July will play host to the regional qualifiers for the event which will be hosted in North America, Asia and Europe.

Much debate has arisen with the announcement of the tournament, which will see both Third Person Perspective (TPP) and First Person Perspective (FPP) used, with a winner being crowned for both disciplines.

The following is a breakdown of the number of teams who will participate from each region:
Europe - 3
North America - 3
Asia (not including China, Japan, and Korea) - 3
CIS - 2
Republic of Korea - 2
People's Republic of China - 2
Japan - 2
South America/Latin America - 1
Oceania - 1
Middle East/North Africa - 1
