Despite the best efforts of Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke who ended the 3 map series with 80 kills, 47 of those coming on his team's map choice, it was not enough for Optic Gaming as Renegades won 2 maps to 1 to secure the last place at the DreamHack Masters tournament in France.

Denis "seized" Kostin who has spent a large portion of his career playing for Natus Vincere, and most recently on loan to Flipsid3 Tactics. He has now been signed to Gambit Esports where he had been acting as a stand-in.

The Chinese organisation TyLoo are still currently playing with loanee Ukrainian player Vlаdуslаv "bondik" Nеchуроrchuk from HellRaisers, started off strong on the first map of Overpass, taking the lead 8-7 at the half. Despite Nechyporchuk ending the game with 38-18 stat line it was the Kazakhstani team who were able to take the map 16-14.

Leading up to this the two Semi-Finals saw the current Major Champions Gambit Esports taking on Vega Squadron in a best-of-three, with Overpass, Mirage and Cache the maps chosen for the battle.

This is the 11th and final event in the DreamHack calendar for 2017. Out of the eight teams in attendance, six were invited with rankings from from 9th to 20th, and the two qualifying teams come in at 32nd and 42nd.
