Whenever teams make roster changes, media’s job is to explain the rationale behind the moves using narratives.
When Fnatic were dominant in 2014-2015, everyone needed to match them in skill. Once Natus Vincere and Luminosity Gaming leveled up in early 2016, it was proclaimed that tactical Counter-Strike was back and the skill-heavy style of the past would no longer do. The implication here is that macro developments – probably best defined as shifts in the winning meta (acronym for Most Effective Tactic Available) – of the scene dictate micro-level moves by the teams themselves.

The IEM Katowice PlayerUnknown'sBattlegrounds Invitational came to an end over a week ago, so you'll be forgiven for thinking that all was done and finished. However it has been announced that the final standings have changed due to a disqualification to Optic Gaming.
The ruling on the disqualification comes after Optic player Ian "Bahawaka" Crowe was seen on stream abusing a bug, that when you move in a certain way, without a weapon equipped you can see through the wall of a building, which he was hiding inside.

Day two in Cancun for the ECS Season 4 Finals has already seen two teams go home, and with two best of three decider matches we have sent two more packing and two victors through to the Semi-Finals.
The first decider match was between Optic Gaming and Mousesports. Mousesports had not looked strong on the first showing on day one, however did manage to move through 2-0 against Luminosity Gaming earlier today. They continued this winning form against and Optic side who looked completely out of sorts at times. After putting up far too little fight in the first map of Nuke the mix of European players, qualified from the North American league, were being run over on Train. Trailing 12-3 after a poor CT side, Optic did manage to pull the game all the way back to 12 rounds, eventually falling 16-12.
